Here is my second art dress with a paper mache bodice and fabic bottom. I used fur "lace" to put in the top of the bodice and she is sitting on two black spools I glued together - but she isn't glued to them, so she can come off the stand. The scepter is inserted into the small round wooden thing that looks like a squished spool - but I have no idea what it really is. Maybe a wooden wheel for a toy car? I then used wire and attached hearts to it cut out of red and black cardstock and added the flag that says "Off with their heads!".
I wanted to try my hand at making an art dress. Why? Well, Pinterest of course. I would have probably never even heard of an "art dress" before Pinterest. An art dress is a mixed media creation, using paper mâché (see how fancy I am with the little things over the "a" and "e"?) for the bodice and paper and fabric for the bottom of the dress. There are many different ideas out there about how to create them, but the tutorials I used are at the bottom of this page.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z17JuGFH1yw is the tutorial I watched to learn how to do this, but there are few other ones out there.
